We're seeking an Electrical Designer/Detailer/BIM Modeler who will be responsible for providing support to construction managers and field leadership through the preparation of BIM models of new and existing electrical systems. Using software such as REVIT® and AutoCAD, each model must by electrically accurate to ensure efficient execution and installation in the field.

We're looking to fill this position in either Denver or our Colorado Springs office!

The base salary range is from $65,000 to $85,000 per year and is commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Employees are also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Using computer aided software; including, but not limited to, REVIT® and AutoCAD, rendering 3D models of electrical system components, such as switchgear, electrical equipment, cable tray, I&C, conduit, and lighting with the understanding of how these systems are installed in the field
  • Prepare detailed drawings of electrical designs and plans for buildings, according to specs, sketches, and rough drafts. Obtain and assemble data to compile measurements and complete designs
  • Assist with tracking, reproduction, and distribution of all drawings, specifications, sketches, and revisions
  • Operate computer software as necessary to effectively create charts, forms, and records as required for specific project needs
  • Ensure a quality product by thorough contract and design coordination
  • Reproduce drawings on copy machine(s) for reproduction to paper or to digital data
  • Routinely coordinate with other design professionals and the build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws or issues. Achieve reduced time/costs related to potential errors of clash detention
  • Provide support to the construction project managers on file management and software capabilities
  • Occasionally visit job sites to assess and assist with application of drawings
  • Utilize Software to Create Points for Surveying Equipment, i.e. Trimble Robotic Total Station
  • Perform Surveying in the field if necessary
  • Create Prefab Details and BOM's for Fabrication
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of REVIT® and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge and experience of performing and/or observing electrical construction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working design documents
  • Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team, either via posting to website or the Internet or via hard copy
  • Fluency in software - Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Bluebeam
  • Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy
  • Fluency in importing documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files
  • Ability to type, proofread, work without supervision, and use basic programs such as Microsoft Office
