Responsibilities

• Perform short circuit analysis; breaker coordination studies per the National electrical code and arc flash assessment studies per NFPA 70E via Easy Power software.
• Knowledge of code requirements for the electrical service, electrical distribution switchgear and panel board per NEC and utility requirements.
• Be capable of laying one-line diagrams from the data collected from the field.
• Visit project sites to assess and retrieve data for performing the studies.
• Ensure a quality product by completing thorough work and coordination with project team.
• Provide support to the construction project managers on file management and software capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned by employer.

Skills

• Take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate studies.
• Ability to receive and transmit documents and data on behalf of the Project team, either via posting to website or the Internet or via hard copy or other software.
• Knowledge of circuit breaker curves and fuse tripping characteristics.
• Fluency in reading 2D plans and shop drawings electronically or hard copy.
• AutoCAD or Revit experience required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the electrical construction industry.
• Working knowledge of EasyPower is preferred.
• Working knowledge of SKM software is plus.
• Knowledge and experience of performing and/or observing electrical construction.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Engineer Degree, PE, is a plus but not required.
