Chief Estimator

As our Chief Estimator, you will be a key player in focusing on client results through innovation and experience.

Your Impact:

• Actively lead and estimate major pursuits ($5M–$100M), perform takeoffs using Accubid/Live Count, and guide the Western Region estimating team in preparing complete, competitive bids.
• Establish and implement standardized estimating procedures and best practices aligned with company methodologies across the Western Region.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Operations to ensure estimates reflect full project requirements and strategic goals.
• Analyze drawings, specs, and market conditions to identify scope, risks, pricing opportunities, and labor contingencies unique to Western Region projects.
• Mentor regional estimating staff and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure reliable pricing and market intelligence.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

• Over 10 years in electrical estimating, including 5+ years in leadership roles and 3+ years focused on Western Region markets.
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, NEC and regional codes, and proficiency with estimating software like Accubid and BIM/VDC technologies.
• Demonstrated success across multiple sectors relevant to the Western Region, with strong preconstruction and design-build experience.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CPE) considered a plus.
• Proven leadership in estimating teams with thorough knowledge of construction methods, standards, and industry best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, and installation methods tailored to Western Region markets, including building codes and permitting requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and superior mathematical abilities for accurate cost estimation and risk assessment.
• Skilled in strategic project planning, critical path analysis, and identifying bid opportunities and risks within Western Region sectors.
• Proven leadership, mentoring capabilities, and effective communication across all organizational levels.
• Expertise in supply chain management and vendor/subcontractor negotiations to ensure competitive pricing in dynamic Western Region markets.
