Electrical Detailer/BIM Modeler

We have an immediate need for an experienced Electrcal Detailer/BIM Modeler. This is a full time salaried position based upon knowledge, experience and expertise, with attractive benefits. Primary objectives consist of providing support to construction managers and field leadership through the preparation of BIM models of new and existing electrical systems.   Using various software such as REVIT and AutoCAD, each model must by electrically accurate to ensure efficient execution and installation in the field.

Responsibilities

• Using computer aided software; including, but not limited to, REVIT and AutoCAD, render 3D modelings of electrical system components; such as switchgear, electrical equipment, conduit, and lighting with the understanding of how these systems are installed in the field.
• Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings, according to specs, sketches, and rough drafts. Obtain and assemble data to compile measurements and complete designs. 
• Assist with tracking, reproduction, and distribution of all drawings, specifications, sketches, and revisions. 
• Operate computer software as necessary to effectively create charts, forms, and records as required for specific project needs. 
• Ensure a quality product by thorough contract and design coordination. 
• Reproduce drawings on copy machine(s) for reproduction to paper or to digital data. 
• Routinely coordinate with other design professionals and the build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws or issues. Achieve reduced time/costs related to potential errors of clash detention. 
• Provide support to the construction project managers on file management and software capabilities.
• Occasionally visit job sites to assess and assist with application of drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Fluency in software CADmep, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam
• Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy
• Fluency in importing documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images and word processing files 
• Knowledge and experience of performing and/or observing electrical construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Preferred AGC CM-BIM certification
