Safety and Fleet Coordinator

Guarantee Electrical Company is currently seeking a Safety Claims and Fleet Coordinator to be based in our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. We are focused on client results through innovation and experience. Come join our award-winning team!

Duties: 

At a Corporate level, this person will be Responsible for supporting various safety programs and the overall coordination and administration of the Company Fleet Program.  Primary objectives consist of providing administrative support of various safety claims, assisting with risk management, and ensuring operations has adequate and compliant means of transportation.

Responsibilities: 

  • Administer Company Fleet Program, maintaining accurate records of all company vehicles and related assets;  Update internal systems with any changes to fleet including adds, deletes, driver changes, etc.
  • Support case management of auto and general liability claims, property damage claims, and Worker's Compensation claims.
  • Serve as the first point of contact in handling and reporting Worker's Compensation cases; establishes and maintains rapport with claimants, adjusters, internal and external customers and other involved parties in the claims process.
  • Assist in providing risk management services to the Corporate Safety Director by reporting anomalies or suspicious operations, activities, and claims; Coordinate and occasionally assists carrier in conducting investigations for compensability.
  • Performs administrative activities to support record keeping and reporting for injuries; Assist with compiling various trend and financial reports for leadership and executive teams; Assist in updating safety programs, both internal and external databases.
  • Maintain vendor relationships relative to vehicle repairs, towing, and vehicle purchasing; Work with accounts payable to ensure that all vendors are paid on a timely basis and that accounting records accurately reflect expense activity.
  • Monitor the organization's commercial liability insurance claims and coverages (Workers Compensation, Auto, General Liability, and Umbrella Coverages).
  • Maintain all local/state/federal regulatory compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet and equipment; maintain compliance through the Department of Transportation by tracking inspections, vehicle testing, and medical exams for various warehouse personnel.
  • Assist with the ongoing development, maintenance, and administration of the motor vehicle GPS tracking system.
  • Coordinate the resolution of traffic violations and file timely and accurate accident reports to insurance as needed.

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in fleet/transportation administration, safety, or related field
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to create spreadsheets and read financial data
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and prioritize their importance and meet deadlines
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and effectively present information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organization skills and ability to effectively work independently
  • Strong analytical and PC skills including experience using windows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Transportation, Communications or related field
  • Knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicle accident and injury prevention principles & techniques, DOT and OSHA regulatory compliance
  • Commercial construction experience
