Senior Electrical Designer

We have an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Designer located in our St. Louis, Missouri office. Primary objectives consist of providing support to construction managers and field leadership through the preparation of BIM models of new and existing electrical systems. Using various software such as REVIT, each model must by electrically accurate to ensure efficient execution and installation in the field.

The base salary range is from $70,000 to $90,000 per year and is commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Employees are also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Using computer aided software including, but not limited to, REVIT, Navis Works, BIM 360 Design, Autodesk BIM 360 Glue and Point Layout for Trimble; render 3D modelings of electrical system components such as switchgear, electrical equipment, conduit, cable tray, boxes and lighting with the understanding of how these systems are installed in the field.
• Prepare detailed drawings of Electrical designs and plans for buildings, according to specs, sketches, and rough drafts. Obtain and assemble data to compile measurements and complete designs.
• Assist with tracking, reproduction and distribution of all drawings, specifications, sketches and revisions.
• Operate computer software as necessary to effectively create charts, forms and records as required for specific project needs.
• Ensure a quality product by thorough contract and design coordination.
• Reproduce drawings on copy machine(s) for reproduction to paper or to digital data.
• Routinely coordinate with other design professionals and the build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws or issues. Achieve reduced time/costs related to potential errors of clash detection.
• Provide support to the construction project managers on file management and software capabilities.
• Occasionally visit job sites to assess and assist with application of drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in an electrical designer role.
• Fluency in software - Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks
• Fluency in reading 2D plans, electronically or hard copy
• Fluency in importing documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images and word processing files
• Knowledge and experience of performing and/or observing electrical construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
